⚙️ How the Ramsay C900 Pressure Control Valve Works
Precision Pressure Control, Made Simple
The Ramsay C900 Valve automatically maintains a constant spray pressure — even when pump speed or boom section demand changes. Its diaphragm-based design balances liquid and air pressure in real time, providing consistent, reliable performance across all spraying conditions.
🧠 Step-by-Step Operation
1️⃣ Liquid Pressure Meets Air Pressure
When the pressure in the IN chamber exceeds the air pressure beneath the diaphragm, the diaphragm is pushed upward. This allows liquid to pass through to the OUT chamber, relieving excess pressure.
2️⃣ Automatic Balancing
The diaphragm opens only as far as needed for liquid and air pressures to reach equilibrium.
When boom sections are closed and excess flow must return to the tank, the diaphragm opens further — maintaining steady pressure in the system.
3️⃣ Constant Pressure, Consistent Results
Because the diaphragm continuously adjusts, spray pressure remains stable even when pump speed or boom demand varies.
Only minor fluctuations occur as the air in the reservoir compresses slightly with each diaphragm movement.

Traditionally, varying spray pressure during operation has been limited by mechanical ball valve systems powered by slow stepper motors — but Ramsay Soil Injection has engineered a faster, smarter alternative.
Introducing the Ramsay Twin Air Solenoid Kit — a relay-based pressure control system designed to deliver instant response and precise in-cab control of spray line pressure.
⚡ How It Works
The Twin Air Solenoid Kit replaces the traditional ball valve system with two high-speed air solenoids controlled by relays.
This setup dramatically improves response times, giving operators near-instant pressure adjustment while spraying.
- A stepper-motor ball valve typically takes 4–5 seconds to react to a major pressure change.
- The Ramsay Twin Air Solenoid Kit, by comparison, delivers a virtually instant response, maintaining consistent pressure even under changing spray conditions.
🔩 Designed to Work with the Ramsay Nocton Pressure-Set
This kit is purpose-built to integrate seamlessly with the Ramsay Nocton Pressure-Set. Together, they form a complete air-based pressure regulation system for agricultural sprayers.
How it connects:
- The main air outlet from the compressor feeds into the Nocton Pressure-Set reservoir.
- The Twin Air Solenoid Kit is connected between the compressor and reservoir, controlling the airflow in both directions:
- One solenoid increases air pressure in the reservoir.
- The other releases air to reduce pressure.
- Both solenoids are operated by relays for precise, reliable control.
